Fall
Mr. T has been working too much still. My work has been crazy the past two weeks since we had parade of homes. And I am not complaining since we both work in commercial construction and with the state of the economy we are both just happy to have great jobs. Mr. T just informed me he will have to work a 1/2 day tomorrow...bummer.
Waiting to hear what is going to happen with our mortgage since we are with Washington Mutual. I strongly doubt that JPMorgan will call it. We recently refinanced to a 15 year. Very exciting to know that we will have our house paid off before we are 50.
Hope everyone has a great weekend...

Back in the saddle again
I had Friday afternoon off from work, so I went up to the lake to ride with Dad. We rode a few hours up to the Decker camp to check on things, since he had archery hunters coming in the next day. We had a great time. We trotted up the Forest Service road and then cut across country and bushwacked the back way to camp. We came across one muzzleloader hunter and then checked on some other hunters in their own camp. The weather is still a little too warm in the days for good hunting. After checking on Dad's camp we met up with his hired help and boogied off the mountain. We were loosing daylight and getting a little chilly pretty quick! When we got back to the stable Dad's hunters had just arrived.
It was a great afternoon! I had kind of forgotten how much I love being horseback and how much I adore my dad. And he kept telling me how much he was enjoying being with me. These are days I want to remember FOREVER.
Oh yeah...this little video is a mistake. I wanted Dad's hunters to take a picture of us together, but the camera must have changed to the video setting in my vest pocket. Oh well...that is Dad and I.

Alone
Fall is in the air and I am loving it. It is funny that Monday morning felt a little more crisp than Sunday. I love fall in Colorado. Pretty soon the leaves will be changing! YIPPEE! Football season, hunting season, sweater wearing time and cooler temperatures!!!
I feel like I am going to have a hard time falling asleep tonight for some reason, so I am grateful for two Netflix dvds. National Treasure 2 and Vantage Point.

Tough times
Grant's and his wife have two kids...one of each flavor. The girl flavor is twoish and the boy flavor is maybe six months. Anyways, they figured out not long ago that what they were paying in child care and expenses to get to town for the wife's job, they were just breaking even. So, the wife decided to quit her job. And after she quit her job she decided to put their house on the market. And she priced it to sell quickly. And it did. In less than two weeks. Oh yeah, and the kicker. She decided that it would be easier on her if they moved to Texas, closer to her mom and sister.
So, Grant has spent the past two weeks packing all of his family's belonging up. He has driven to Texas several times. However, he is not moving. Not until his and Mr. T's construction project is through. And until he can guarantee himself (and his family) that he has a job in Texas. Because until he has a job, they can not purchase a house. And he really doesn't want to move in with his mother-in-law, like his wife has done.
Yesterday when I was helping Grant move some things into our house he kept thanking Mr. T and I for letting him stay with us. I told him it really wasn't that big of a deal and that he can stay for as long as he needs. He said it could be six months, a year or forever. And at that moment my heart sank.
I can see the pain in Grant's eyes. This guy just got his whole world turned upside down in a matter of a month. Granted I am sure things have not been great for a while, but still. Here is a guy who is a total outdoors man / mountain man and his wife is demanding that they move to the Panhandle of Texas. She wants him to quit his good paying job, move in with his mother-in-law, start job hunting, start a new job, and then start house hunting, and then move into the new house.
I know there are two sides to every story and then there is the truth. But from what I am seeing this guy is getting pretty shafted. I hope they can work things out.
In the mean while, I am going to try and learn a lesson from this. I know marriage isn't easy and there is a lot of give and take, but you really have to be honest and upfront about your feelings, dreams, fears, etc. Otherwise the direction you see your life going and your spouses starting taking completely different routes...and that is where problems occur. In my opinion.

Another shameless joy
I was introduced to this show by some friends and started watching it via Netflix, because I am too cheap to pay for Showtime. I am a little embarrassed to say that I am addicted to this show. So much that I could not wait for Season 4 to be released on DVD that I have been scouring the web to watch the episodes as they are released to TV. Which, by the way, isn't too hard!
There was a new episode on this past Monday, but I have been too busy this week to try and find time to watch it. But, you can bet your family farm that I am going to watch it tonight. Well, after I curb my Wii Fitness addiction!
Have a happy and safe Labor Day!

Yard Time
This accomplishes a few things.
1. Goatly being out allows him to eat the weeds and oak brush leaves.
2. Locking Brown Dog in the garage prevents Goatly from being attacked. (The two don't play well together and Brown Dog's teeth win over Goatly's horns!)
3. When Goatly is out of the pen, Chicken Little is able to eat his chicken food without the threat of Goatly hooking him with his horns.
One wouldn't think that these three animals would have such a hard time getting along, but they do. So, to keep the peace at the ranch every animal is allowed their own form of yard time.

A minor addiction
I love the fitness 'game'. I have been getting up in the morning and doing 30+ minutes and then coming home and doing it again. There are four categories: Strength, Aerobics, Yoga and Balance. And it really is a pretty decent workout.
Mr. T and I have also been challenging one another with the games...bowling, golf, baseball, tennis and boxing! Eventually I think he wants to get a big game hunting game.
I think we have about $450 invested into this system, but I think it was money well spent. I know other addictions that cost a whole helleva lot more!
